3 August 2019 – Students, parents and staff of SK Abang Haji Matahir, Sarikei were in for a Monday morning surprise when they returned from the weekend to see the school in a much cleaner and improved state. The faces behind this CMS’ community outreach initiative belong to 39 volunteers from CMS Roads Sdn Bhd (RMU Sarikei) whose Saturday started early as they worked to spruce up the school.

The volunteers worked in four groups – eight employees had drills, hammers and nails to assist them in repairing the tables and chairs in the classrooms; 14 were tasked to conduct improvement works on the parking lot with 20 tonnes of 2’’ DCR; nine used MCO and seven tonnes of premix to patch up damaged pavements; while the remaining eight joined forces with school teachers to clean and declutter the school compound.
