8 August 2019 – After receiving news of the fire incident on 7 August 2019 at Kampung Bahagia Jaya Teku, Sibu that left 20 of its residents homeless, CMS Premix Sdn Bhd and CMS Cement Industries Sdn Bhd immediately joined forces to gather 107kg of used clothes, 40kg of rice and other food to be donated to the victims. The donation-in-kind were handed over at the house of Haji Ismail Aimer, the chairman of Kampung Bahagia Jaya Phase 2 Village Development Committee which currently doubles as a community centre where donations to the victims are collected at.
On behalf of the victims, the chairman expressed his gratitude to the two CMS subsidiaries for promptly coming to their aid.
