19 April 2019 – Sixteen employees from COPE Private Equity Sdn Bhd (COPE) including COPE Managing Director, Dato Haji Azam Azman, CMSB Director, Mr Peter Chin and Group Chief Financial Officer, Tuan Syed Hizam Alsagoff visited Diem Truong Thao Hong Den, a school located in the mountainous village of Sapa, Vietnam housing 180 H’Mong children aged between six to ten years old and eight teachers.
Employees were given an opportunity to interact and engage with the children throughout the hour-long fun-filled session. The children, donned in colourful handsewn ethic costumes, performed several dances to local songs and gave the employees a sneak peek into their unique culture. Gift bags containing school kits like water bottle, pencil cases and socks were given to the children at the end of the visit.
COPE is extremely appreciative of the experiences and is humbled by the welcome they received from the school. Each left the place with renewed appreciation of the privilege the city dwellers enjoy but often take for granted.
