CMS Cement Industries brings smiles to the old folks

24 March 2019 – Twenty-two compassionate employees from CMS Cement Industries Sdn Bhd dropped by the Sibu Benevolent Society Nursing Home for a gotong-royong session to help give the old folk’s home a clean, secure and comfortable living space. Our employees spent the day wiping windows, mopping floors and ensuring that all living areas were squeaky clean. By teaming up with the residents to create a pleasant home experience, the old folks’ individual empowerment is greatly supported, leading up to higher levels of self-esteem and improved interpersonal skills which help them in combating depression. Our employees did not leave empty-handed either, as a special bond with the nursing home is now in place along with a heightened social awareness on our community’s responsibility towards our warga emas. To maintain a skilled workforce that whole-heartedly supports the work of NGOs, CMS is committed in organising more activities centered around caring for communities that are in need and to remind ourselves that an act of kindness can go a long way.
